A roof leak left my store, Toy Harbor, in need of renovations and remodeling. Jason and the Archer team stepped up to complete the renovations and handle the insurance claim. They were professional, timely and great at communicating. Jason was very responsive to my feedback and concerns and went above and beyond to make the experience great for me. The remodel was fairly challenging and they had to work around a lot of shelving and items that could not be moved. They were always extremely helpful and compassionate and I truly enjoyed everyone on the team! The end result is awesome and I could not be happier- Archer Contracting is the BEST!

Great company to work with, I had Jason Vanderford for my contractor and could not be happier. he was always updating me on progress with calls and pictures. He was able to explain things in a way that made sense. His crews were very professional. My tile is stunning, woodwork exceptional. My cottage is now a home. They were timely and kept working once job was started. I would absolutely use Archer again!! Ask for Jason!

We had used Archer Contracting for cottage, garage and shed repairs as early as 2013 and were always satisfied with the quality and timeliness of their work. It was a natural we should look to them to totally remodel our cottage into a permanent residence. Their references were outstanding the cost estimates were comparable or better than the other bids we received.
Selecting Archer Contracting was a fabulous decision on our part. We rate Archer with a final grade of A+++!
Special Circumstances. We faced four major challenges once we engaged Archer: COVID Shutdown, restricted material supply, significant increase in material costs and a water table only 30” under our existing foundation. Thus, the first 18 months of the project dedicated to planning, four different architectural designs and material selections once the final design was submitted. This period began in January, 2021, and ended in late July/early August, 2022.
Jason Vanderford, Managing Partner, Archer Contracting, was our project manager. His communication and planning talent were superb in managing those first 18 months, given the challenges mentioned above. To be exact, he has skill sets only the best project managers have: eliciting owner requirements, managing expectations, risks and change requests, providing prompt and regular updates, coordinating his work crews and sub-contractors, and interfacing with external entities such as local zoning administrators and our remote architect.
Given the post-COVID price roller-coaster we decided to do time and materials rather than a fixed bid. Again, it was a very good decision for both Archer and us—indicative of Jason’s ability to create win-win situations for all involved in the project. We received detailed, monthly billing reports.
Demolition and Construction took place from the beginning of August, 2022, to the end of June, 2023. The quality of work from the Archer crew was excellent. They also were phenomenal about clean-up at the end of every week and greatly respected our property. The sub-contractors’ work was excellent as well. We did have an issue with damaged to our crawl space, but Jason made sure the sub-contractor made restitution and clean-up.
If Jason was not available for any given period of time, Scott Grubb, the other Managing Partner, would be there for us. Scott was so responsive to our questions and managed workers, sub-contractors and issues seamlessly.
Our home is beautiful! Our only post-building complaint: we miss the interaction with the Archer crew and several of the sub-contractors.
Three further points: 1) Jason did not abandon us once the project was completed. He made sure there were workers to do a final clean-up, touch ups and minor fixes. He also contacted and scheduled sub-contractors for minor issues/adjustments to our HVAC and moving our gas line. 2) Archer Contracting includes Restoration Repair, which moved all content of our cottage to our garage and some storage. They also did a bang-up job of post construction interior cleaning. 3) Lesson Learned: When Jason makes a recommendation, listen and act on it. He knows what he’s doing.
I could write so much more about our great experience, but I won't. :-)

Archer did a spectacular job on our full house remodel last year. After living with it for several months, there isn’t a thing we aren’t thrilled with!
Would (and have!) recommend to anyone looking for quality work and products.

As a former builder and a current zoning official I meet and talk with many customers about their projects, plans, and results. I have heard nothing but praise for the work done by Archer Construction. I have personally been on site and evaluated several projects, including new construction and remodel work. I would not hesitate to recommend Archer for any building project!
