Always a pleasure to be back in town and visit Dale’s mission. I’ve returned to the shop once a year since I was 14 (now 25.. jeez!) and it’s consistently a family-must while visiting. It’s one of those needle in the haystack businesses that brings insurmountable joy to our family. As a NYC local, I feel confident in saying that this chocolate is the best I’ve ever tasted. Incredible chocolate and an even more incredible mission. Pleasure as always Dale… this review is far overdue and can’t express how much I love visiting. Take care, until next summer (:

In my opinion Confections with Convictions is the best chocolatier in Kalamazoo and probably the state of Michigan and maybe the Midwest. Endless combinations of hand-dipped dark and milk chocolates in creative, mouth-watering varieties. There are also vegan chocolate and truffle options, along with many commercial products such as peppermint bark, cocoa, cookies, and bars by different brands. Each chocolate in the counter display is a small work of art, and the staff knows everything about how to place them into the boxes for maximum aesthetic appeal. Each box comes with an optional hand-drawn map that tells customers which bit of deliciousness is which. Great for gifting—yourself or others.

My favorite chocolate shop in Kalamazoo! The owner here is a fantastic person, very kind and friendly, and all of his employees are the same. The missing of the company is also fantastic!
We've been coming here for years and love almost anything this shop makes. A wide array of vegan options, truffles and chocolates that use local products and produce, and very reasonable prices! We regularly use these chocolates as gifts and everyone loves them.
They're also doing cupcakes orders now from a great bakery in Grand Rapids! So many options here and all of them are fantastic.

I've been in Kalamazoo for almost 10 years now and have never been here. Until today! 10/10. Service is amazing and the staff are so sweet. The truffle options are endless. Solid pricing all around. I'll absolutely be back!

Confections with Convictions was a highlight of our Michigan experience. Dale scheduled a tour and learning experience for my family of six. From the moment we walked in, Dale exuded warmth and pride in this amazing shop that he has created with love. He immediately offered all of us a choice of truffle and they were just decadent. He even was knowledgeable about allergies and steered our decisions safely. Dale then sat with us to explain the chocolate making process and gave us the chance to taste everything from the cacao nibs to the dark, milk, and white chocolate. Then, he toured us through his lovely facility, introduced us to his staff, and shared the magic of chocolate making. Dressed in hairnets and aprons we then made chocolate bark. The kids got to select their mix-ins (fruits, nuts, salt) and then made their own bark. Dale led us through the process with such kindness. We could not have asked for a better experience and this will forever be a highlight of our trip. On the wall, there is a quote, “Transformation begins with love.” There’s no doubt that Dale has put great love into this special business. We will be recommending Confections with Convictions to all of our fellow travelers.
