My daughter is wrapping up her 7th year here. The staff are so patient with the students and great about answering any questions I've had. It's also nice seeing former students return to visit/help out. We could not have asked for a better dance family.

If you want your child enrolled in dance, then this is the place to be! Wonderful owners, staff, and dancers... everyone makes this studio feel like home! I danced there for about 10 years and felt nothing but love through it all! The support from the teachers is unmatched! Love, love, love!!!!!

My son has danced at Dance Avenue for two years. He just completed his first year on the competition team as well. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the studio owners, teachers and the studio. These ladies care for our children as if they were their own. They are patient and kind and very knowledgeable in dance and technique. In the two years our family has been a part of Dance Avenue, my son's dance growth has been extensive. His technique, flexibility and strength have far surpassed anything we could have imagined in such a short time. We love being a part of this dance family and intend to continue sending our son there to dance and compete. We love this studio.

This is the best dance studio downriver....hands down! My girls have danced there for several years after attending other studios, and we love it here. This is a true dance family! The instructors care about your children, not only as students, but as CHILDREN!! The nurture as well as teach the art and love of dance. The other reviews talk of shorter recitals and the little ones having to wait, but having attended two other studios recitals this year, the caliber of our recital was definitely worth the time and money spent. And none of the recitals that I attended had all of the little ones lined up at the beginning so they could be done first, they were always spread out within the recital. The LADIES that operate Dance Avenue do not deserve the bashing that they are receiving here. Nothing is stated that if there are large classes, there are trained classroom assistants to aide the students. And the redo at the recital was due to a child missing their cue and being off the stage completely, not "messing up and getting a redo." I thought that showed compassion to that family that spent money to watch their child dance in the recital, just as she had to watch hers.

Dance Avenue is my second home. The two women who run it are the kindest, most respectful women out there. The recital is so organized (it can be a little hectic back stage but let's face it, every recital/show/competition is hectic backstage). The backstage moms are there to help between every quick change. Coming from someone who had at LEAST 2 dances between my numbers, the backstage moms kept me on track and ready to go! :) When my little sister went on stage for hip hop and they called the number again, I was really wondering why they would perform a number twice.. When my sister came off stage, she informed me that one student wasn't on stage in time for the dance.. So instead of telling the kid to suck it up or something like that, they kept it professional, and informed the audience that they would see the dance a second time! The student got their chance on stage, the chance they were waiting for since September. I thought that was so kind of the owners to do. Also, at the end of every recital, they award thousands of dollars in scholarships. It really helps, especially in today's tough times. I received a $450 scholarship last year and it is REALLY going to help with next year's costs.
Also, they do a GREAT job with teaching the little ones. I assistant taught with two other girls, and we also had an instructor teaching. On average, I believe there are 15-17 students per class, with 2-3 instructors and a teacher. That's actually very good! They have viewing weeks throughout the year, and when practicing the recital routine, parents are usually invited to watch their children. Personally, I believe that seeing the students a few times a year shows greater improvement.. But that's just me. :)
The studio's parking lot is a little snug, but look at how much the studio has grown! I don't think the owners thought their studio was going to become this large!
Overall, this place is my second home. I wouldn't want to dance anywhere else.. I love the teachers, owners, and other students as much as my own family. I consider everyone here my second family and I wouldn't trade the feeling I have for the world.
